Domain Anne Gros

The history of this winery starts in 1830 when Alphonse Gros settles in Vosne-Romanée. Anne Gros is the 6th generation and takes over the estate from her father François in 1988 under the entity “Anne et François Gros” to continue under the name “Anne Gros” in 1995.

In 2019, her 3 children Julie, Paul and Marine are active in the winery, preparing the 7th generation.

Respect for tradition and openness of mind

Anne's philosophy: "My goal is always to start with healthy, ripe grapes. I then strive to do everything possible to respect the integrity of the grapes and subtly guide the fermentation."

This philosophy is in keeping with a respect for tradition and the desire to innovate. Respecting the biodiversity of the terroir allows the family Gros to produce wines that are subtle, harmonious and elegant with good a body, viscosity and fruit.

The Pinots are 100% destemmed and vinified in stainless steel barrels under controlled temperature for 10 to 20 days, depending on the vintage. Manual 'remontage' and 'pigeage' are continuously adjusted to the evolution of the fermentation and the taste. The leak and press wine are then assembled and then pre-clarified by natural sedimentation for 2 to 5 days. The wine is then placed in oak barrels to rest for 14 months in the cool of the cellars, before being bottled in December of the following year.

The Chardonnays are immediately pressed and then kept cold while they settle. Fermentation then begins first in stainless steel barrels and then continues for several weeks in oak barrels in the cellar.
