Chambolle Musigny AOC " La Combe d' Orveau" - Anne Gros 135,00  EUR

Elegant and fine wine. In the nose, notes of fruit (red berries, raspberries) and floral hints of old roses. The light tannin-rich finish has notes of white pepper. This wine pairs perfectly with small poultry such as pigeon, quail, and roasted red meat. Ideal to drink after 10 years.

The Vineyard of Anne Gros' Chambolle-Musigny is located on the southern boundary of the territories of Chambolle and Vosne-Romanée in the locality known as La Combe d’Orveau. It was passed on by Louis Gros to his son François upon his death in 1951. The origin of the word "Orveau" is said to come from "Val d’Or" (little golden valley).

Facing east, this valley opens onto the alluvial fan where the grand cru vineyards of Echezeaux, Grands Echezeaux, and Clos de Vougeot are located. The climate is more extreme due to its location (colder in winter, hotter in summer).

The wooded environment, fighting against erosion, gives a moister character in autumn. This place also preserves a certain biodiversity with its advantages and disadvantages (ranging from the beautiful singing of birds to the unfortunate damage caused by game).

This plot of 110 ares consists of 60 ares of vines aged 30 years and 50 ares of young vines planted in 2016.

The grapes are now fully destemmed, vinified in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with manual punch-downs and punch-overs, and aged for 14 months in oak barrels.
