Ruffus - Belgium

Vignoble des Agaises is the very first estate ever planted in the Wallonia region of Belgium (2002), with the aim of exclusively producing sparkling wines. At the forefront of the wine-growing renewal in Belgium, the winery has gradually expanded to reach more than 35 hectares today, becoming the largest vineyard in the Kingdom.

The vineyard is located in Haulchin, between Binche and Mons, at a place known as “Les Agaises”. This hillside, very rich in limestone and with south exposure, is where Lord Jean Ruffus reigned in the 12th century.

The wines are made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, according to the traditional method (2nd fermentation in the bottle), with a minimum of 15 months in “lattes”.

The RUFFUS cuvées, internationally rewarded on multiple occasions, are characterized by an aromatic delicacy and an incredible minerality, draw from the chalk which abounds in our exceptional terroir.
