Pintia 2008 D.O. Toro 75 cl 49,00  EUR

Regian: Castillia y Leon volume: 75 cl Jear: 2008

Pintia belongs to the famous Vega Sicilia house in Ribera del Duero. However, Pintia comes from a recent project in the Toro region and was released from 2001. The plots of vines extend over 96 hectares and are spread over different terroirs. They are located at an average altitude of 700 meters, where the climate is quite extreme and continental.

The grape variety is Tempranillo, locally called Tinta de Toro, from vines aged 35 to 55 years. After selective harvests and alcoholic fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels. Aging for 13 months: 70% French oak and 30% American.

Young, very concentrated, inky black color. In the nose: ripe redcurrant, leather, coffee and a certain youth. In the mouth direct and open on juicy ripe fruits, revealing noble tannins in the structure. From the second sip, you get more of a tight Toro-type wine, nicknamed “the black wine of Spain”. Tempranillo shows its more modern side here.
